Backwoods Meatloaf

Who doesn’t love a classic meatloaf? This, once again, is a simple and quick crock pot recipe great for any dinner or get together! It enhances an original, making it the perfect go-to choice!

Our Backwoods Meatloaf comes from one of my truly favorite people, Amber Davis! Amber is one of those rare friends willing to tell you how it is and what you actually need to hear, which is something I appreciate and feel we need more of! She will be behind you 110% of the way helping you chase your dreams while avidly chasing her own! Amber is one of the most compassionate, fun people I’ve ever met! She’s also extremely driven and once she sets her mind on something she’ll not only succeed but thrive while doing so.

Amber and her husband, Jon, started a hunting dog training business. At first Jon simply helped friends, but they quickly noticed Jon had a knack for it and saw things not everyone could. He clearly had a gift and stood out from the rest. He was also on his own hunt for the perfect dog, one that could upland game, waterfowl, track, etc.. In 2003, Jon was invited out to a dog test and there fell in love with the Drahthaar breed. In 2005 they started a kennel to help perfect the breed while educating others. Realizing there was a huge need for high quality trainers in the industry, Jon quit his job as a milkman (Amber likes to joke her kids are the milkman’s kids), and they set to work becoming a full-time dog trainer and breeder in 2007. Today, they own and operate Gun Dog University.

Amber has been a support and coworker through it all, doing a little of everything from taxes to shooting rifles, being involved with the breeding and official pup names, and whatever else the business requires. First and foremost, Amber is a wonderful mother to her beautiful family. Amber is such a light to all who know her!
