ABOUT US

WELCOME TO THE BAR 21 RANCH

WHERE TRADITION RUNS DEEP AND FEEDING AMERICA’S HEARTLAND IS OUR AMERICAN LEGACY.

Who are we? We’re Ken and Jess, just two sweetheart ranchers hoping to make a difference in educating our country on all things agriculture while growing our herd and our family.

Ken is a true Wyoming cowboy who was born and raised in all things ag. He taught high school Agriculture classes and was an FFA advisor for almost ten years. He’s also a wrestling coach who managed to help his team take state titles home 3 times in just a few short years, with many individual state titles throughout the last ten years. He now runs his own side cattle and alfalfa operation with Jess. He’s one of the hardest working cowboys you’ll ever meet, and if you ever need anything, he’s the one to call.

Jess grew up working and playing on the back of a boat, as her family was and is heavily involved in the marine industry. Raised to follow her heart and dream big, and with entrepreneurship in her blood, she’s always wanted to make a difference and stand for what she believes. She still remembers the exact moment when she realized the agriculture world started calling to her, yet she never imagined what a wonderful life it would lead to!

We’re both teachers who graduated from Utah State, Ken in Agriculture Education with a minor in animal science, Jess in Family Consumer and Human Development, emphasis on Early Childhood Education. Together, we focus on changing the world one person at a time. Our family is our whole world, and we love to invite and adopt anyone into it. We also know agriculture isn’t just a way of life but a calling to care and provide for all we can.

Our biggest hope through all of this, is to build a bridge over the ever-widening gap and lack of understanding in agriculture to help the general public see just what happens in the everyday life of a cattle rancher. With point of view perspectives, hot topics, and even a little politics, we aim to share what really happens in agriculture in a classy, tasteful manner that everyone can enjoy reading with an open mind.

Rest assured that the only manure we’ll ever tolerate is from our own livestock!
